My Bankroll challenge for 2010....

Postby Dwayne Dibbley » Tue Feb 02, 2010 12:48 am

or for however long it lasts lol is:

To turn whatever I have or had on the two main us sites namely Stars & Tilt into something useful by only playing satailites (Stars account gets a boost from teh UK only games they have running til March) - they are fairly low variance if you pick the right ones and you can unreg from any seats you win, so lets see how this goes. I will try to post graphs and what not on my progress, basically I started in mid Jan on Stars with about $100 and roughly same on Tilt. This all came about because Ipoker skins had been kicking me in the danglies badly at the backend of last yr and I needed some sort of motivation to play more regularly - had lost the bug and needed a new challenge to get my teeth into, my only concern is because satties are such a different animal compared to MTTs it maywell effect my MTT game but that said I need a break for a bit from the MTT grind (or lack of lol) anynway hopefully more to come soon.
Let me check. Thermos, sandwiches, corn plasters, telephone money, dandruff brush, animal footprint chart and... one triple thick condom. You never know ;)

So this is really me? A no-style gimbo with teeth the Druids could use as a place of worship?

I will go along with what listy says mate....very best of luck to you. I too feel rather 'out of love' with mtts of late. I am on a breather from the ipoker ones and only playing very low buy in mtt's.

Good luck mate. I watch this with interest....

thanks you three :)

ok small update, no graphs or stats yet am still wrestling with HEM at the moment - its a pain having played on 2 computers (PC & Lappy) HHs are not in one place that aside this is where I am at:

PS Starting BR - $100

As of today $127 + T$35

I have peeked so far at about T$50 but slipped back a bit recently, the real money has come from small wins in the UK only freerolls which are my only games (aside from the JImbo/BTD games) that are not satties.

Not sure of exact ROI for the sats but I am ahead so far, rough guess played something like 25, cant really mutli theses things because when you get deep have to have an eye on the lobby so I max out at 2 lol.

4 games played today:

3 $2 1/4 mil sats and 1 F40 $5 sat.

First 1/4 mil busted early AK v AA flopped K no help :(
Second 1/4 mil won seat.
Third 1/4 mil won seat.

First F40 satty 30 seats up for grabs had a suckout for 1/2 of stack (maybe an error on my part even playing the hand given mine and both villans stacks) after being in ok spot to get seat, this left me somewhat in bad shape and needing to double to have any chance, weak player in EP (has me covered by 500 chips) opens for 4xbb I repop on Button with AJs he snap calls and flips A9, flop comes Q92, turn blank, river blank out 45th or something, these are soft satties but outside my roll - hopeuflly can try couple more by being subsidised by the $2 sat wins (I think F40 is this wkend so will keep trying and hope I dont go busto by playing too many of em lol).

FTP hates me at the moment only won one sat since starting this, either getting my premuims out flopped or not winning flips but thats poker. Will wait till Mini Ftops sats start, then I can mix in some of those weak field games to play alongside the DD satties but this depends on what ratio of seats they are awarding - not going to play in anything that has more than a 1 in 10 ratio - I want fairly low variance games - hence no shootouts or winner take alls.

Bad day nuff said lol

PS roll as of end of today: $127 real, T$18.

6 games played today, 5 1/4 mil and 1 F40.

first 1/4 mil: busted - tried to bluff a station doh !!! me crippled after that, no luck when shoving short.
second 1/4 mil: busted - am short and blinds are high, bigstack (who has a seat locked up) limps from MP with 56o i check in bb, flop comes 568 rainbow. I have pot size bet left so shove with K8 oops get snap called - who knows why someone open limps 56o ffs but thats the fish in these things !!!!
third 1/4 mil: busted early- In bb with 86o, limped multiway pot, flop trips on flush draw board 4 allins, me (86o) check raise allin, Q6o, k2 clubs and the mighty 72s (who is the only stack that can take me out) lol, 72 spikes heart on river and am out.
fourth 1/4 mil: busted - bad beat central oh well.
fifth 1/4 mil: busted - early on had aces cracked, rallied only to make a donkey shorty push, flopped well but got runner runnered - such is life lol.

first f40: busted - late on trying to get double up to be in position to get seat (40 of em up for grabs) nitty player wakes up with AQ to my Q6clubs shove, i flop top pair and flush draw - no help and out.

Seems to be a theme here my silly shoves arent working - maybe need to tighten my belt a bit or find another way to get chips off these goons - but can't do much when cards or spots don't come and when you do get a hand it gets cracked. Heres hoping for better day tomorrow, may need to knock the F40 sats on the head they are 2.5 1/4 mil buyins and Im not rolled for them, will be eating into real money fast and that was not meant to be the plan.

Just the two early ones so far and stupidly watching rugby at same time lol

2 1/4 mil sats played

First 1/4 mil: busted fairly deep - loads of sunday runners 40 seats available, stuffed up against geordie bigstack grrrrrrr he had the hand I was trying to represent  - not thinking clearly on my part
Second 1/4 mil: busted early to donkey flush chasing frog with T5s when i flop 2nd set :(

hopefully will attempt to concentrate and player better later today.

OK been ill for over a week now hardly played any poker but managed couple games last night and they were:

2 1/4 mil sats won one and donked late on in the other, the win was nice to get played a bit more patiently at the right time - mucked AQo twice when I had no need to risk over half my stack in the mid game, although this led to going card dead for ages some timely shoves and an AK v AQ got teh job done. 2nd game was just an anti-climax and should never of played it was tired and not feeling upto playing - poxy little devil on my shoulder won the day on that one lol.

Too tired from busy day to play today hopefully will get chance tomorrow, anyway latest Stars roll stands at : $129 real and T$20 (took a hit from those F40 sats grrrr). be back to the grind later this week.

Quick update, had either a very late night or very early morning start depending on if u think the glass is half full or half empty. played 1 satty on Stars and 3 on FTP:

1 1/4 Mil satty: won seat :D
2 Mini FTOPS #8 sats: busted early in one KK v AJ, won seat in the other.
1 DD satty: busted late on to the fishied fish Ive ever seen, someone had already had a whinge at this play any 2 cards chase to the river donk and I fell into his chasing crap with QQ v K7s, chased his flush draw to the river only to catch a King arghhhhh, left me crippled after that I shove with top pair ok kicker next hand get looked up by better kicker :(

not had time to play since that early start but more later hopefully.

played 3 more mini ftops satties a $1.40 1r1a, $2.25 FO and a $1.40 turbo KO like earlier, beats in all three, tilt hating me again just cant seem to have hands hold, getting in ahead only to lose :(
